PAST ANNOUNCEMENTS

Covering the year 2004 Part 1

---------------------------------------------------------------------

New Show Debuts: The dfsxradio Lab Premieres June 30

Wednesdays at 10pm Eastern and Pacific, come inside the DFSX
laboratory for 60 minutes of fresh music that you probably have never
heard before.

The DFSXRadio Lab is where you, the listener, get to vote on the
new batch of songs the DFSX programmer is considering adding to the
regular playlist. As always, when a song is playing, you can vote
"thumbs up" or "thumbs down" to let the programmer know what your
vote is for the song.

The only difference between the Lab and ISGD: The Lab features songs
that are actually on CD (no mp3 downloads or cassette rips) and are
no more than a year old for domestic releases (or up to ten years
if its a foreign release that has never been heard in the States
before).

The dfsxradio Lab also accepts albums on CD that actually don't suck.
Musical genres can be of any kind as long as the songs are basically
humorous or fun to listen to (no boring CHR fluff)!

Submitters of CDs get their albums and links on dfsxradio.com, as
well as a four-month hot-link on its sister websites. Details
are at dfsxradio.com under "Sposorship".

You may also send your CDs directly to get hot-linked to
David Tanny, PO Box 19569, San Diego, CA 92159-0569. Please make
sure that the songs are good or the listeners will vote them down.

So please tune in and rate the songs to help shape up the playlist
on "The DFSXRadio Lab," Wed 10pm ET/PT or 9pm Central time.

The two Wednesday night airings of dfsxradio Lab will take the place
of last week's Kahnman Comedy Corner (more on that in this letter).

NOTICE

I've been getting inquiries from low-power FM radio stations wishing
to broadcast my ISGD show...without any compensation. Here's the
facts.

First, my voice work is worth something, for use on another
station I shall modestly call the competetion, there should be
a thought by the station to pay the piper for his work. Why
should I direct my listeners from my stream to your station?
What's in it for me?

Secondly, the music that I use on DFSXRadio.com come with no
transferrable rights to third parties, that is, I can't
produce a radio show and give the show CDs out outright for
use on other stations without dealing with all the legal
red-tape as all of the music is copyrighted and
redistribution rights are prohibited. The RIAA is not taking
this lightly. I'm not taking any chances. I can sell you the
voice track job, like what Clear Channel does, and that's it.

If there were a system where the ASCAP, BMI, and SECAC members
involved with the recordings get compensated (i.e.: paid royalties)
for use of their works in a radio show in place, I would do it,
but I would have to charge the radio stations who want to use my
shows a royalty fee to be passed on to a government tribunal
who would distribite the royalites accordingly. In addition, since
my work is of value, I would also have to charge the stations for
"nonemployee compensation" for my voice work introducing the songs
and talking. With my workload as heavy as its going to get, it
doesn't make sense for me to provide my services without any
monetary compensation.

Paying for radio shows on your broadcast station proves to me
that you are serious about the radio business and put a monetary
value in work, as well as proof that the show is intended to be
put on the air by way of compensation.

If you wish to use the comedy music featured on DFSX and ISGD,
you are free to do so, but there is a legal way to get the songs.

Please go directly to the DFSX Home Page at
http://www.dfsxradio.com/9100.htm and look on the right-hand side
for the albums sorted by year. Visit the year pages and purchase
the albums from my website and Amazon will bill your credit card
and ship them to your place. I also get paid 50 cents to $1 for
each of the albums sold by Amazon linked from my website.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

WANT A RADIO SHOW ON DFSXRADIO.com?

Some rules: shows must be DMCA compliant (sorry, no all-one artist
shows), all songs in 128kbps-44mhz-stereo MP3 format, each ID3v2
tag fully identifying the songs (artist, song, album, year),
detailed playlist supplied on .txt, no profanity, though bleeping is
okay, songs licensed to play on American radio, and run either
50, 105, or 160 minutes to accompany all listeners for 1, 2, and
3 hour blocks.

Interested? E-mail me for more details.

WE FINALLY GOT RAGE AGAINST THE MUNDANE!

After a long wait, we finally got Tony Goldmarks new CD
"Rage Against the Mundane." We ripped the CD and put seven of the
tracks on the regular randomised DFSXRadio playlist. More to follow
later.

You can buy all three of Tony Goldmarks CDs here at DFS FunnyCities:

DEMENTED MUSICIAN PRESS RELEASE: ISGD Features Weekly Countdown Show.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact David Tanny, dfsxradio.com, PO Box 19569, San Diego, CA
92159-0569

ISGD Features Weekly Demented Music Countdown Survey

San Diego, May 10, 2004, dfsxradio.com, playing comedy and funny
music 24 hours a day on the Internet, debuts its show-within-a-show
weekly music survey dubbed "The ISGD Top 3" beginning today.

Demented recording artists and fans are encouraged to submit their
song requests through the DFSXRadio.com website to get their favorite
band's songs onto the survey and to count towards the year-end survey
of the top 50 song requests of the year. To be sure that dfsxradio.com
has the songs to play, the recording artists will contact Mr. Tanny
by post card or e-mail if he owns the CD wence the songs came so
they can be played before the artist tells their fans to request
them through the dfsxradio.com website.

DFSXRadio.com broadcasts its programming through the power of
live365 dot com, a streaming radio service that pays ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC
fees. Tanny pays about $20 a month to use live365 dot com's streaming
services, plus about $50 a month to purchase CDs listeners request to
hear; fans and artists can offer used or new CDs on the cheap for
streamplay provided that it fits the spirit of funny music.

The Year-End Demented Music Survey, to air beginning New Years Eve
2004, will replace the Demented Music Poll, which has been discontinued
after the 2003 poll. There will be no more skipped songs in the survey
due to missing CDs in the dfsxradio.com collection.

If the poll takes off, the survey may be expanded to longer weekly
surveys such as the Silly Six, The Nutty Nine, The Twisted
Twelve, or whatever Tanny the PD decides. It clearly depends on
weekly listener reaction.

The dfsxradio.com features albums in the catalog where people can
easily purchase the CDs online, as well as to visit the artists
website paid through sponsorship partner programs to help them stand
out above the others. A rotating banner program for dfsxradio.com
is under development and will be unveiled at a date to be announced.

About DFSXRadio.com:
With zero watts of power, reaching all over the world, DFSXRadio.com,
with a collection of some 6,000 songs, plays a diverse mix of funny,
demented, comedy, and odd music recordings, many of which were played
just once on some radio shows and never heard from again, and are
being famous once again with the help of Internet radio. DFSXRadio.com
plays many but not all of the songs people hear on Dr. Demento and
other funny music radio shows, most of which are not broadcasted via
terrestrial radio in their radio markets. DFSXRadio.com is not owned
or operated by anybody but David Tanny whatsover. Please visit
dfsxradio.com for more information.

PARTICIPATE! PARTICIPATE! PARTICIPATE!

We built this city of de-men-tia. Someone ought to make a parody
of that Starship song. Got a good one? Send it in!
I don't see anything wrong with the song: beats
the living crap out of anything on pop radio today. Try listening
to today's crap on KIIS and Channel 933 in San Diego and you'll
hear what I mean.

Anyway, do your part in building the city of dementia by making
requests, sharing funny bumper mp3s and more on the DFSX group.

If you wish to participate in polls, make requests, be sent
reminders and new artist features among others, then join the crappy

Working on a design right now. Mine sucks. Got any better ideas?

OLDIES & ODDITIES SHOW NOW ON THE INTERNET

KKSM 1320 in Oceanside is a Palomar College-run radio station where
North San Diego County listeners can hear Zeb Navarro's collection
of funny songs "Oldies and Oddities" for two or three hours
depending on where the show is scheduled.

Now, you can listen to his show on the Internet anywhere in the
world, thanks to Zeb for being in charge of finally becoming the
radio station boss and had the authority to finally get things
rolling for KKSM to get their stream on the Internet!

Listen to The Oldies and Oddities Show
Saturdays 4-6pm Eastern, or 1-3pm Pacific
by visiting this website.

http://www.palomar.edu/kksm

And yes, he plays Tony Goldmark and Luke Ski songs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

WHERE's DT'S SONGS?

Two people wanted to hear my "Mambo 90210" I made in April 2000,
a month before the series finale of the 90210 TV show, but that
will have to wait until everybody else's requests are fullfilled,
many of which are backed up by two months (we rerip one CD a day
except Sundays). It would have aired on Kahnman's show, but
our bosses have a strict 105-minute mandate for the length
of the show to accomodate live365 dot com listeners who listen for free,
and, aside of the obsolete AM sound, it was cut to fit the time
frame. Can't we get live365 dot com to make the scheduler more
flexible? We'll spare you the details, but the limitations are
what we have to live with.

DEMENTED AUDIO GUIDE MOVED AND RENAMED

Well, more than that, except for the programming guide, I took
down the whole section due to lack of time to update it, and moved
the page where and when you can listen to the funny music shows
online at this new location:

http://www.davesfunstuff.com/0430.htm

The new name: Dr. Demento: Listen to Dr. Demento on the Net and
Other Shows! It's also part of the "Channel 4 Dementia" section.

old locations to change:
http://www.davesfunstuff.com/2400.htm

Please change your bookmarks and web directories to the new
location.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

MASSIVE EXPOSURE OF YOUR WEBSITE ON MY WEB CLUSTER

For details, please see
http://www.davesfunstuff.com/00splink.htm

Hint: CDs have to be funny or demented. Please, no more inquiries
from people who make serious records. They just don't fit the website
format. I had to reject two religious inquiries for advertising
because they're clearly off subject. Don't they ever listen to
the Dr. Demento show? We'll play funny records with religion as
a subject, but not unfunny religious records. Get the drift?

BTW: if you send in a crappy top 40 song on a CD, we'll make fun
of it in an upcoming DFSX radio ID bumper.

What do the Ostrich-back Riders, Worm Quartet, Fast and Dirty,
Drunk and Disorderly, and Da Yoopers have in common? Whether these
recent CD donators know it or now, their websites have been
strategically plastered not just on a page on dfsxradio.com,
but on several entry points of these sections:

Free links are good for six months, sponsored can be from
one month to 24 months.
http://www.davesfunstuff.com/00splink.htm

Expired links disappear after the period, so those who are
actively partnering will be rewarded with hotlinks to their
websites longer.

DFSX Playlists http://www.dfsxradio.com/9200.htm
DFSX Radio http://www.dfsxradio.com/9100.htm
(plus one album listing on one of the Album Yearbook pages
Davesfunstuff http://www.davesfunstuff.com
(linked on over two dozen popular entry points)
Loony Links http://www.davesfunstuff.com/9400.htm
(free submitters get one page on the A-Z page. Donators
or paid sponsors get all 27 pages so your link is seen,
plus its seen on the top half of one of the A-Z pages
instead of in the middle of the pack)
And more pages are being redesigned to accomodate them.
Depending on your library of songs, you can get at least
48 pages linked from any of the three domains. If you have
x number of songs in your album catalog, they get added in the
Demented Song Almanacs http://songs.davesfunstuff.com/0700.htm
and the massive
Novelty Songs a2z http://songs.davesfunstuff.com/1200.htm
plus if Dr. Demento or a specialty show plays your song,
it gets on the playlists too.

So if you donate or sponsor, you don't just get a mention on the
dfsxradio.com radio stream, your links get all over the cluster!

For details, please see
http://www.davesfunstuff.com/00splink.htm

NOTE: This is good only for artists who have a website. This
is not affilliated with amazon or anyone else.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

THE TOP 0 SONG OF THE WEEK!

We go one step better than the top 1 song of the week. We count down
the top zero song we can't play, and don't play it!

#0: Toxic - Britney Spears

Thanks for the request for a song we can't play. Next time, suggest
something else we can't play.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

DFSX FORMAT CHANGE UPDATE

The Music Will Be The Same, But The Format Will Change On
March 15, 2004.

The old format: 24kbps,11Mhz,stereo
The new format: 24kbps,22Mhz,mono

Over 2000 songs have been reripped to the new format as of March
3, 2004, and more are being reripped and reengineerred with new
ID3v2 tags providing better descriptions of the songs being played.
Again, many many songs that have been featured won't make it on
March 15 due to the herculean nature of the project, so please keep
the suggestions coming for songs to add (or drop in some cases).

---------------------------------------------------------------------

WHAT SONGS AND ALBUMS DID YOU REQUEST

Here's a partial list. Suggestions for hundreds of songs came
in during the past month.

Uncle Arnie ("Russian Roulette" song) (Bob and Tom GH Vol 1)
Bill Engvall stuff
"KAOS Radio" - Arbagast and Ross

Trench Coat Club with songs "Save the Ants" and "Prune Berry
Crunch" http://www.trenchcoatclub.com (never heard of those songs)

"My New Governor" by Allan Sherman (anyone know where I can get
that from?)

Shari Elf's music

Quotes from some requesters:

"I would like to see every Throwing Toasters song you can get your
hands on survive the change! And the Mr. Grant CD, Voted Most Likely
To ROCK. I also enjoy Hot Waffles, Raymond and Scum, Tony Goldmark,
and Luke Ski!"

"Me and my SUV" by Russ Buchanan and the Suburbans

"I would love to get more exposure to the songs that are on the
top 25 annual list. Zappa, Frantics, Python, Yankovich, improv
comedy, and other stuff to make us feel younger."

"Having blocks of comedy types would also be nice, so that the
Frantics are together, stairway to heaven parodies are together, or
some other link is existing so that it doesnĘt jump from
Da Yoopers to a Britney parody and then to a 1950Ęs comedy skit."

"Blocks of the O.B. Ranger"

"Anything and everything by Weird Al Yankovic!"

Yahoo Resort, Elk & Seal
Carrot Juice is Murder, Arrogant Worms (I would welcome more from
this group)
Chainsaw Juggler, The Four Postmen
Article Nine, John Forster
White Collar Hollar, Stan Rogers
EBay, Weird Al
Ballad of the Big Buffet, Mylo Hatzenbuhler (and more from
this individual, I have not heard his songs elsewhere)
I'm not home right now, Cheech and Chong
Bulbous Bouffant, The Frantics
Happy Fun Ball, Saturday Night Live (I don't have that one, sorry)
Ballad of Bilbo Baggins, Leonard Nimoy
Wet Dream, Kip Addotta
You Were Speeding, The Frantics
Uncle Jack Says Relax, by ??
Look at All those Idiots, Simpsons
Man of Constant Borrow, Cledus Judd
Bras on 45, Ivor Biggun
Fatal Beatings, Rowan Atkinson
Stanky Breath, Doctor Badbreath
Amazin' Man Idi Amin , John Bird
The Only Gay Eskimo, Corky and the Juice Pigs
Marvin I Love You, Marvin the Paranoid Android
Sailing the Seas of Accountancy, Monty Python
Of course other songs/skits by these groups are welcome
as well as items that we have not heard requested by others.

Thank you,

Ray Weglein

Martin Mull, Arrogant Worms, and Throwing Toasters.

Keep them coming. The change happens on March 15, 2004!
