These are all the 27 coincidences of "Weird Al" Yankovic that I found over the years, whether they made it to Elvis's 27 List or not.

Only the 27's that I found are listed here. Please do not send me 27's that you find. No sense of making redundant lists.

Please see The 27 List by Elvis for the complete list, and it's HUGE! Submit your 27 finds over there. Thanks.

Weird Al was born on October 23, 1959.

I was born on April 26, 1960.

That's a gap of 26 weeks and 3 days, right?

WRONG!

It's 26 weeks and 4 days, because there was a leap year day between those dates!

So, round it up to the next whole week and you get...

27!

Starting on November 27th 2004, watch for Al making comments about videos during a program called The Greatest: 100 Cheesetastic Video Tricks Exposed. This is the show Jon posted about on weirdal.com. Here are the showtimes. Keep in mind, this is VH-1, so times may change without notice.

August 21, 1995 marks the day Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz first posted "The Bermuda Files" about "Weird Al" Yankovic on the web. 8 - 2 - 1 - 1 + 9 + 9 + 5 = 27. (note three minusses and plusses in a row!)
The 12-27-00 episode of "Days of Our Lives" had one of the female characters mention a name of a Weird Al album..."Bad Hair Day!" For the 27 list, Bo and Hope were married on Dec 27, 2000, and on May 23, 1985, so 5 + 2 - 3 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 = 27
I paid $25 for a local radio station to play Weird Al's song "The Night Santa Went Crazy" for a Toys For Tots cause in December 2000.
They played the song at 2:27! Weird!
Sep 2000: ABC ran the movie "Spy Hard" opposite the 27th Olympic games on Saturday, and "Weird Al" sang the opening theme song.
7-7-2000 Radio and Records magazine had a Datebook feature on page 20.

7-20-89 (actually 7-21) was the day Weird Al's movie "UHF" was released in theaters. It earned just $6 million.

Add up the 7 and the 20!

In The San Diego Weekly tabloid paper, there was an article on Weird Al Yankovich (that's how they spelled his name) on page 27.

Weird Al Yankovic was at the KFMB-FM studios on Sep 15, 1999. There's no 27 in the date, but the address of the TV/radio station is at 7677 Engineer Road. 7+7+6+7 = 27! d.t.

Found in June 1999...

In Billboard magazine, Volume 111, No. 27, dated July 3, 1999 Weird Al's ad for "Running With Scissors" CD appears.

The day Weird Al's song from "RWS", "The Saga Begins", on June 25th, there were 27 weeks remaining in the year.

The first song from Weird Al's "RWS" CD will air on the Dr, Demento Show #99-27.

Whew! All found on the 27th of June to be exact.

and who could forget VH1's Mixology featuring Weird Al on June 27th?

Found in June 1999...

First off, this is from the new book "The Birthday Directory" by Dennis Crossland out in bookstores and amazon.com this month.

Second, I am honored to be given a plug for my website (and Dennis's favorite website) www.davesfunstuff.com and even my name is mentioned, all on Page 4, which among other things has subjects including "Weird Al", Dr. Demento, etc. etc.

And thirdly, turn to page 155 and count starting at 1 from the top most name on the page (Annette Funicello), and keep counting until you point at "Weird Al" Yankovic and say

27!!!!

I counted again and again and I still couldn't believe that Weird Al is the 27th name down from the top on page 155!!

Found in May 1999... "Charles W. Hughes" wrote:

>It's been awhile but People Magazine has a picture of Al with Drew >Carey. Sophia Loren is on the cover dated May 31. Al is on page 53. > Dani

May = 5 31st day of the month page 53

let's do math:

53 - 31 + 5 =

27!!!!!

Found in May 1999...

I was composing the Today in History Datebooks for the upcoming weeks and I'm here on May 19th, and look what I found here...

In 1983, "Weird Al" Yankovic gave a live performance at the Wax Museum in Washington DC, officially marking the beginning day of his first official tour. A "27" coincidence of note: on this day nine years later, the 27th Amendment to the Constitution, which prohibits Congress from giving itself midterm pay raises, went into effect.

Thanks to Bermuda's weirdal.com website for the date of Al's first concert date.

Found in Apr 1999...

Weird Al was a guest on a Space Ghost Coast To Coast rerun on Cartoon Network on 4-23-99

4+23 = 27

If you have the new Rolling Stone (the females of Scream 2 are on the cover), go to page 54. In the middle of the year in review is a mention of Al directing the Jon Spencer video, with a picture of Al too.

And divide the number in Scream 2 into the page number 54 and guess what?

27!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Weird Al Show will have its final airing on CBS the weekend of September 26 and 27, 1998. On the West Coast, the WAS will be bumped for college football (that was LAST YEAR!) and may air on Sunday the 27th on some western CBS stations.
Today i was flipping from channel to channel on the AM band looking for something to listen to.

I scanned to 1170 and ran into a commercial for some car, but when I scanned again, the last thing I heard on 1170 was "27" before I pushed the Radio Disney button on 1240, and guess what I heard? Weird Al Yankovic singing the Yoda song.

Scary, isn't it?

TV Guide

The TV Guide issue that Weird Al Yankovic appears on is dated February 7th, or...

2-7!!!

Weird Al appearred on Pictionary during the week of Jan 19-23, 1998.

Take 23, add 22, add 21, subtract 20, and subtract 19, and you get...

27!!!!!!

PS: Did anybody add up the week's winnings of Weird Al's team. Is there a 27 in it?

Amanda Cohen wrote:

Whatever happens in 1998...remember these two things...

And then I wrote in response:

and if you add the digits in the year 1998

1+9+9+8

you get....

27!!!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

In 1986, Thanksgiving Day fell on November 27.

Weird Al was 27 at the time!

Anybody notice that there was a 27 year gap between the time Melissa Joan Hart's series "Sabrina" debut in 1996 and the time the Filmation cartoon version of "Sabrina" debut in 1969?

Coincidence? Could Melissa Joan Hart have some 27's of her own?

Also, her album "Sabrina: The Teenage Witch" soundtrack was released on October 27, 1998

Not to mention, Melissa's birthdate, April 18, and Weird Al's birthdate, Oct 23, is a 27-week gap!

Not related to Weird Al, but so what?

Today's lesson: When friends want to share their feelings, you should be a good listener.

In that episode, Weird Al sez where is everyone, they should have been here 27 seconds ago! Ah, he ruined the mood pie!

Also, The Weird Al Show lasts just a little over 27 minutes, from the beginning notes of his theme song through the closing credits.

Weird Al sez after Harvey ate the last piece to close the show...

"Until next time, eat your vegetables, brush your teeth 27 times a day, and remember, Harvey is a professionally trained hamster..."

He said 27! Heh-heh.

Nov 2, 7pm.

AHA! a 27!

BINGO!

In the San Diego edition of the Sep 27 TV Guide:

Ch 8: Weird Al, VCR Plus Code 81640

Add up 8+8+1+6+4+0 = 27!!!!!!!

Check your TV Guides for 27's this Sep 27 in your area and post them!

Regarding the Weird Al show TV book listing...

I also noticed in the Los Angeles TV Book that it airs on Channel 2 and has a rating of TV Y7

Ch 2: TV Y7 = 27!!

"Weird Al" in quotes has 2 words sharing 7 words between them.

27!

This ad was seen on the Sep 13, 1997 edition of Billboard Magazine.

There is an ad promoting cassette versions of recording artists featuring "Weird Al" Yankovic still flipping over the prerecorded music on cassette. He's crazy about those little tape thingamajigs and he thinks that every record store on the planet should stock plenty of them, especially his recent "Bad Hair Day" album. At the bottom below the CBS and Dick Clark logos is this footnote listed in part:

"ITA-The International Recording Media Association is a 27-year-old industry trade association..." etc. etc.

Where'd ya hide the cassettes? In isles 8, 17 and 27, or course!

On the 4-27-97 Dr. Demento Show, the Doctor played three of "Weird Al"'s songs that day.

Guess what happens when you raise the number of Al songs to the power of itself? 3 to the power of 3 is 27!

"Weird Al" plays the accordion. He took his first accordion lesson on 10-22-66, one day before he turned 7. Since Al was still 6, add his age to the day of the month (22) and you get 28; but that's not all; he had one more day to go before he turned 7, so subtract 1 from 28 and you get 27!

"Weird Al" Yankovic guested on "Tomorrow with Tom Snyder" at 11:30pm Central time on April 21, 1981. But on the East and Pacific coasts, the Tomorrow show began at 12:30am the next early morning, making it April 22.

Add the latter date's (4-22-1981) digits together:

4+2+2+1+9+8+1 and guess what?

27!

Also: at that time, "Weird Al" was 21 at the time he was on Tom Snyder, so add the Eastern/Pacific time's digits to his age:

21+1+2+3+0 and you know what?

27!

JIMI HENDRIX...

He was born 11-27-1942 and died 9-18-1970 at age 27.

I got a question...

Was Al baptized on Oct 27th?

a wild thought

"Weird Al" hit #1 on Doctor Demento's Funny Five on the 27th of the month. On May 27, 1984, "King Of Suede" was number 1. On April 27, 1997, "Yoda" was number 1.
"Bad Hair Day" CD hit #14 at its peak on the Billboard 200 Album chart on April 27, 1996.
Al's bass player, Steve Jay, was born on January 26, or as it's commonly written, 1/26. 1 + 26 = 27.
Using number coding where A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. and it's applied to Close Personal Friends of Al (CPFOA), you have:

C + P - F + O - A = 3 + 16 - 6 + 15 - 1 = 27.

Al was on The Simpsons again!

Al made a return cameo appearance on The Simpsons. The episode - "That 90's Show" - aired Sunday, January 27, 2008.

Fox Trot published a strip on January 27, 2008 with a couple of 27's mentioned. Cartoonist Bill Amend must be a Weird Al fan. In the last panel, the female yells, "For the 27th time this year, I'm not an Imperial walker, Jason!" and Jason replied, "And for the 27th time, my name is Rogue Leader."
On "Good Morning America", on 2-27-08, guest Donny Osmond was plugging his new movie "College Road Trip", and he said something like "I did the White and Nerdy video with "Weird Al" Yankovic. The director saw it, and thought I would be perfect for the role of a white and nerdy Dad.
