The Sign of a True D-Fan is a collaboration with the great Luke Ski. Luke prepared the music for the rap, which contains a sample from "Demented Forever", a song from the film Cecil B. Demented, and they wrote the lyrics and recorded it together in San Francisco while Luke was in town wiht his fiance Stephanie Wild. The song is a tribute to Demented Music in general, and in particular to its rabid hardcore fans. They also added a Dr. Dre reference with all the subtlety of a man dressed in a chicken suit juggling two watermelons and a screeching cat. Three versions of the song is included; one is a full seven-minute version and the other two are versions split from the full version.
The Ballad of Carson Daly is where Goldmark pays homage to what he considers a lost folk hero who has been completely ignored despite all his qualifications: world renown, his own cable show, and above all, a catchy name. His song is an attempt to remedy that.
Moshin' is inspired by the music of rockabilly acts like the Stray Cats, this song came to him one day when he realized, with all these rockabilly songs about going out dancing on the town and, in the process, rocking it inside out, just how much dates have changed since then. So in that spirit, this is a nostalgic song tribute to the days of the good old 1990's.
The Pirate Song is a song about pirates. Listen for Luke Ski on this one as well, being a background pirate and adding a goat to the pirate ship for no reason, except, in his words, "Goats make things funny." Philosophically, truer words have seldom been spoken.
Rhetorical Questions was inspired by all the folk-rock songs out there in which they spend the entire five minute song asking rhetorical questions without giving any sort of answers whatsoever, thus, wasting your time.
Disney World - remember Disney World from his last promo CD "Alconoclast?" Good, then this one shouldn't be hard to figure out.
