In 1935, Elvis (Aron) Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi, one of a pair of twins (his brother Jessie was stillborn). The King of Rock ʹnʹ Roll, who later changed the spelling of his middle name to Aaron, became the teen-age idol of millions.
