In 1906, Comedian Henny (Henry) Youngman was born in Liverpool, England, and was later raised in Brooklyn, New York. Dubbed the “King of the One-Liners,” Youngman was known for his simple, rapid-fire jokes — sometimes telling over 50 of them in an eight-minute comedy routine. His famous one-liner — “Take my wife, please!” — became so popular it was included in Bartlettʹs Familiar Quotations.
