For techies, the characters of SIXBIT are in the range of 20-5F hexadecimal, or from 32-95 in decimal.
It was an early scheme to save precious bits for punch cards and magnetic tape. For packing SIXBIT characters, coders could pack four SIXBIT characters in a span of three 8-bit bytes to save wasted space since the upper 00-1F range are just unprintable control characters and the lower 60-7F range are mostly lower case letters plus the delete key at 7F.
Gozinta: SIXBIT gozinta PASCII, which gozinta ASCII.
