Jessica Wicks and Robin Manhart Wicks obtained a marriage license earlier this month from Bexar County. Had Jessica Wicks been born a woman, their Texas marriage would not be honored by law. Jessica, a male-to-female transsexual, met Robin in 1997 and the couple began dating more than a year ago. The Reverend John Nicholas of the Metropolitan Community Church pronounced them “one in holy union.”
