9/26/2000: Buffy vs. Dracula
Dracula (Rudolf Martin) casts his dark shadow over Sunnydale and Buffy's relationship with Riley when the count interrupts her patrol and displays more power than the usual vampire. Buffy orders her cohorts to stay away from him until they can do more research, but Riley is annoyed when the slayer seems starstruck by the famous count and goes searching for information on his own---leaving Dracula free to ensnare Xander. 10/3/2000: Real Me
Buffy's slaying is hampered by sibling rivalry when she's forced to take Dawn with her and Giles to the magic shop, where they find the owner dead from multiple puncture wounds. The evidence points to a new vampire gang. When they learn the leader of the pack is Spike's ex-girlfriend Harmony (Mercedes McNab), nobody takes them seriously until Dawn mistakenly invites Harmony into the house. 10/10/2000: The Replacement
Xander (Nicholas Brandon) is frantic when he wakes up from a demon attack and finds a Xander double (Kelly Donovan) taking over his job, apartment and girlfriend (Emma Caulfield), not to mention his place in the Scooby Gang. 10/17/2000: Out of My Mind
Buffy learns that Initiative experiments left Riley with super strength, a high tolerance for pain and an abnormally fast heartbeat that could lead to a heart attack unless he gets help. But only the Initiative can help him, and they no longer exist. Meanwhile, Harmony (Mercedes McNab) fears Buffy is still after her and seeks refuge with Spike. Dr. Overheiser: Time Winters. 10/24/2000: No Place Like Home
A new enemy (Clare Kramer) with overwhelming power lands on the Slayer's doorstep, bringing in its wake disturbing revelations about Dawn and the terrifying ability to cause madness. Meanwhile, Giles officially opens his store, the Magic Box. Ben: Charlie Weber. Monk: Ravil Isyanov. Night Watchman: James Wellington. Older Night Watchman: Paul Hayes. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg. Buffy: Sarah Michelle Gellar. Giles: Anthony S. Head.

11/7/2000: Family
Tara's birthday arrives and with it the requisite surprise in the form of her brother Donny (Kevin Rankin). Meanwhile, Glory (Clare Kramer) recruits a demon in a new plan to take down the Slayer, who moves back home to keep an eye on Dawn. And a disgruntled Riley goes out drinking alone on the wrong side of town. Ben: Charlie Weber. Mr. Maclay: Steve Rankin. Beth: Amy Adams. Sandy: Megan Gray. Harmony: Mercedes McNab. 11/14/2000: Fool for Love
Buffy forces Spike to explain how he killed two Slayers, and his flashbacks reveal the first time he met Drusilla (Juliet Landau), as well as their collaboration with fellow bloodsuckers Angel (David Boreanaz) and Darla (Julie Benz). Buffy: Sarah Michelle Gellar.

11/21/2000: Shadow
While Buffy is indisposed at the hospital with Joyce's tests, Giles inadvertently sells Glory evil transmogrification artifacts. The Slayer must then rush to stop the creation of a cobra monster, but Glory beats her to the punch. Glory: Clare Kramer. Joyce: Kristine Sutherland. Riley: Marc Blucas. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg.

11/28/2000: Listening to Fear
As the Scoobies investigate a murderous, meteorite-born creature, Buffy stays with Joyce, whose brain tumor is affecting her personality. Meanwhile, Riley fraternizes with questionable company. Joyce: Kristine Sutherland. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg. Riley: Marc Blucas.

12/19/2000: Into the Woods
Just as Joyce's successful surgery relieves some of Buffy's stress, a doting Spike reveals that Riley's been secretly paying vamps to drink from him. The Slayer's temper gets the better of her, leaving the rest of the gang to wonder what in the world happened. Back at the crypt, Riley confronts Spike---with weapon in hand. 1/9/2001: Triangle
Buffy's post-Riley emotional turmoil is interrupted by a malevolent troll accidentally set loose on Sunnydale by Anya and Willow as a result of their bickering. The Scoobies team up to take him down, but the monster's magic hammer packs a mean wallop. Olaf: Abraham Benrubi. Tara: Amber Benson. Anya: Emma Caulfield.

1/31/2001: Checkpoint
Buffy and company get a visit from the Council of Watchers, who possess insight into who (or what) Glory is. Unfortunately, they're less than forthcoming with the crucial information. As the bureaucracy takes over, a short-on-time Glory is as determined as ever to obtain the Key. Glory: Clare Kramer. Travers: Harris Yulin. Giles: Anthony S. Head.

2/6/2001: Blood Ties
Dawn's entire world crumbles around her after she learns that she is the Key---and dealing with the truth proves to be even harder than anyone had anticipated when she runs away. Glory discovers that the Knights of Byzantium, her competitors for the Key, are in town. Glory: Clare Kramer. Ben: Charlie Weber. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg.

2/13/2001: Crush
Dawn tells her big sister that she suspects Spike is in love...with Buffy. Too creeped-out to be comfortable around him, Buffy confronts the defanged vamp about his secret crush. Meanwhile, a train with several murdered passengers aboard arrives in Sunnydale, along with Drusilla (Juliet Landau). Spike: James Marsters. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg. Harmony: Mercedes McNab.

2/20/2001: I Was Made to Love You
The bizarre mannerisms and superhuman strength of April (Shonda Farr), who's searching Sunnydale for her boyfriend, lead the gang to believe she's really a robot. Meanwhile, Buffy decides to go out on a date with Ben (Charlie Weber), but the Slayer has no idea how close he is to Glory. Anya: Emma Caulfield. Xander: Nicholas Brendon. Tara: Amber Benson.

2/27/2001: The Body
The discovery of Joyce's lifeless body on the living-room couch leaves Buffy reeling from shock and fully unprepared to deal with the aftereffects. Buffy must also break the news to Dawn, who is understandably shaken by the sudden turn of events. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg. Joyce: Kristine Sutherland.

4/17/2001: Forever
While Joyce's funeral has a numbing affect on Buffy, her little sister's inability to accept their mother's death leads Dawn to a potentially dangerous solution---a resurrection spell. Meanwhile, Ben lets a crucial clue slip to Glory concerning the whereabouts of the Key. Angel (David Boreanaz) also pays a visit to Sunnydale to comfort his ex. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg. Ben: Charlie Weber. Anya: Emma Caulfield.

4/24/2001: Intervention
After Buffy and Giles leave town for some Slayer soul-searching, the Scoobies mistake Spike's custom-made romance with his Buffybot for the real thing. Then, Glory's minions kidnap Spike in the belief that he is the coveted Key. Meanwhile, Buffy has a reunion with the first Slayer (Sharon Ferguson) out in the desert. Spike: James Marsters. Glory: Clare Kramer. Xander: Nicholas Brendon.

5/1/2001: Tough Love
While Buffy is preoccupied with the pressure of being her obstinate sister's keeper, Glory and her minions set out to grab the person whom they believe to be the Key---Tara. Unfortunately, Tara is more vulnerable than usual, as both she and Willow are stunned from the aftereffects of their first big fight. Tara: Amber Benson. Glory: Clare Kramer. Willow: Alyson Hannigan.

5/8/2001: Spiral
Buffy and the Scoobies---including Tara, sadly rendered mentally disabled by Glory's brain drain---hightail it out of Sunnydale to escape the hellgod, who now knows the truth about Dawn. Spike's RV provides transportation but not much defense against the legion of Knights of Byzantium out to destroy the Key. Tara: Amber Benson. Spike: James Marsters. Glory: Clare Kramer.

5/15/2001: The Weight of the World
Willow psychically enters Buffy's troubled subconscious in an effort to somehow reach the Slayer, who has been rendered catatonic by Glory's abduction of Dawn. Meanwhile, Glory vents her frustrations on the limitations of being part human to a frightened Dawn; and Spike, Xander and Giles work on undermining the hell god's nefarious plans. Doc: Joel Grey. Glory: Clare Kramer. Willow: Alyson Hannigan.

5/22/2001: The Gift
Buffy and the Scoobies put together a plan to stop Glory from spilling Dawn's blood, which would open a portal to Glory's hellish dimension and bring about the end of the world. Also, Xander decides to take his relationship with Anya to the next level. Dawn: Michelle Trachtenberg. Glory: Clare Kramer. Ben: Charlie Webber.
