On this date, NBC gives the 3 ET, 2 CT/PT slot to local affillates after its last airing of "Santa Barbara," but takes back the 12 ET, 11 CT/PT half-hour slot for programming. It readds "Scrabble" there, and replaced "Dr. Dean" with "Scattergories" at 12:30 ET, 11:30 CT/PT. The game show count went back up to five. NBC's daytime schedule goes down to four hours daily, not counting Today and other morning news shows.

For the time being, NBC had a continuous daytime block running for four hours straight.
