Updated March 11, 2026

I attatched an outdoor antenna with a signal booster to a newer TV and I could now pick up the distant low power KSDX-LD stations from my home.

But first, I checked out three sources for the digital subchannel information for KSDX-LD on RabbitEars, Titan TV, and TV Channels Lists. None of them seem to agree on the lineups for the now 17 subchannel lineup for KSDX-LD. They might want to get a 12 DC to AC converter, an antenna, and a digital TV and drive up near San Miguel Mountain to pick up KSDX-LD to see for themselves the channel lineup they have.

The newer Samsung Crystal TV picked up the video as well as the audio of KSDX-LD from my home, but my older 2008 Sharp digital TV picked up the video channels for only subchannels 1 and 4. I guess it's time to donate the TV to Goodwill, and maybe the cheap portable TV that doesn't seem to get anything.

I scanned my Samsung TV and picked up 89 local channels including subchannels and those from Tijuana. It even picked up KGTV's low power repeater on physical channel 20 so now I ended up with two of each of KGTV's subchannels.

Here is the subchannel lineup for KSDX-LD as of March 10, 2026. Note that some subchannels have moved around.

Gone from KSDX-LD's subchannels as you can see: ACEtv, beIn Sports Xtra en Español, and RNTV: Right Now TV. Wonder how many subchannels you could squeeze in a 6 MHz chnanel? I wonder if BarkTV is on a streaming channel?

Will we ever get any more subchannels? Will we get MEtv back on a local channel even if they come out of a Tijuana broadcaster? Will KSDX-LD move to another physical channel due to a new physical channel from Tijuana co-channeling on channel 9? When will KZTC move their physical channel from 7 to 25? Stay tuned.

Updated March 10, 2026

I drove to the CostCo shopping center south of Poway and picked up some updates to the three stations that are on top of Mount Wilson. Also note that KZTC-LD is still broadcasting on physical VHF channel 7, a channel so difficult that even in the line of sight within five miles I still have severe trouble picking it up on my portable TV. Perhaps I should try a larger TV hooked to a 12V to AC power supply and dump the cheap portable TV that doesn't seen to pick up most anything.

Here are the updates.

KSKT Changes

The changes for KSKT-CD channel 43 virtual, channel 36 physical, is listed below:

KZTC-LD Channel Check

Also checked KVSD-LD. No changes.

Also checked KBNT-CD. AltaVision was added to subchannel 88.

XHAS and XHDTV Changes XHAS has deactivated its subchannel 2 and dropped the Estrella TV affiliation. Also, XHDTV has dropped its Milenio Television affiliation and has gone off the air. This is due to Entravision Communications Corporation exiting the business of broadcast ownership in Mexico as the Cabada family takes control of both of the stations.

According to this Medium.com page:

https://medium.com/en-frecuencia/new-year-off-with-a-bang-f1f5c591f9dd

"The Cabada family has apparently taken control of XHAS-TDT Tijuana, as well as XHDTV-TDT, which is currently not broadcasting programming. Canal 33 programs from Cabada have moved from 33.2 to 33.1 and gained cable carriage in Tijuana and San Diego. The sale is noteworthy as it marks the exit of Entravision Communications Corporation from broadcast station ownership in Mexico."

XHDTV is off the air for the time being.

KSDY Check

I can barely pick up KSDY-LD from my home. I found the local San Diego soccer team game broadcasts on their LD6 channel. Many changes are listed.

More updates to follow soon.

Updated March 3, 2026

KFMB-DT5, which was showing Nosey, is gone from its multi-channel lineup.

XHCPAT 9 Tijuana Is Now Broadcasting according to this AVS forum entry seen at https://www.avsforum.com/threads/san-diego-ca-hdtv.376666/page-55?post_id=64492904&nested_view=1#post-64492904

Excerpt: "Looks like there is a new channel on RF 9 in Tijuana, XHCPAT. I only noticed it today on my HDHomerun after doing a scan. It seems to be transmitting from Cerro Colorado in Tijuana, similar to XHCPDE."

Note: its virtual channel number is 14.1

Excerpt: "I found the IFT’s (Mexico’s FCC equivalent) entry for XHCPAT which has its transmission location and characteristics."
