2006/01/02-Eastern; for Central and Pacific (except WB), subtract one hour

On this date, The WB Television Network debut a daytime block titled "Daytime WB", which was a successor to its afternoon cartoon block, which ended December 30, 2005. That same week, the WB relegated its showing of cartoons to Saturday mornings only.

On January 24, the CBS Corporation, which owned UPN, and Warner Brothers Entertainment, which owned The WB, announced plans to shut down their networks and launch The CW, featuring the best shows from both of the networks, on September 18. The CW Daytime was a continuation of Daytime WB that day; initally two hours, it was shortened to one hour in 2010.

On this date, The CW was launched from the merger of the UPN and WB networks. "The CW Daytime" replaced "Daytime WB" for its afternoon block. The CW also overhauled its 4pm ET lineup.
