2006/01/02-Changes

On this date, The WB Television Network debut a daytime block titled "Daytime WB", which was a successor to its afternoon cartoon block, which ended December 30, 2005. That same week, the WB relegated its showing of cartoons to Saturday mornings only. Times for WB Daytime programming vary by market, airing anytime between 2 and 6pm.

On January 24, the CBS Corporation, which owned UPN, and Warner Brothers Entertainment, which owned The WB, announced plans to shut down their networks and launch The CW, featuring the best shows from both of the networks, on September 18. The CW Daytime was a continuation of Daytime WB that day; initally two hours, it was shortened to one hour in 2010, and was dropped altogether years later.
