1981 Daytime Schedules-Eastern and Central/Pacific Editions

Subtract one hour to get the schedule for the Central and Pacific Time zones.

From this point onward, we'll be showing you just the schedules for the Eastern time zone. Simply subtract one hour for Central and Pacific times zones. As of June 8 of 1981, all of the network daytime shows sync up opposite each other in those three time zones.

1981/06/08-Eastern; for Central and Pacific, subtract one hour

CBS makes a move and decides to move "Young and the Restless" to the 12:30 ET, 11:30 CT/PT slot, but some affiliates can choose to air it a half hour earlier thanks to an advance or alternate feed of the series. CBS moved "Turns" to 1:30 ET, 12:30 CT/PT, and "Search" to 2:30 ET, 1:30 CT/PT, a time slot it didn't like. It may have been because of ABC's popular soap opera block hitting NBC's ratings hard, thanks in no small part to the popularity of Luke and Laura on "General Hospital". It was definitely a decade for soaps in daytime.

For the [local] and "Restless" shows, notes are given that some stations may air the affected shows as an offset related to the live feed.
