2005-03-25 Starz! Kids and Family (PAY) was launched in place of Starz! Family.

2005-03-25 Starz! Theater was rebranded as Starz Edge.

2005-03-28 Starz! was restylized as starz. All of its multiplex were restylized as "starz" as part of their names.

2005-03-28 True Stories was rebranded as Encore Drama.

2005-03-28 Love Stories was rebranded as Encore Love.

2005-03-28 Action was rebranded as Encore Action.

2005-03-28 Mystery was rebranded as Encore Mystery.

2005-12-31 Trio had its final broadcast day. The following day, Sleuth replaced it.

Cable History Highlights For This Year Range

In 2005, the FCC identifies 531 satellite-delivered national programming networks, an increase of 143 networks over 2004. The FCC also identifies 96 regional networks in addition to the national channels.
