07-12-1982: Legendary James Brown wings it with the World's Most Dangerous Band. Both Paul Shaffer and Will Lee recall it as their most exciting musical guest.

07-12-1984: Viewer Mail: Matt from Illinois asks where a guy can send his gal out and not spend much money. The answer: The Late Night Cigar Shack.

07-12-1988: Anton Fig displays the Fig-Cam; Graphics Coordinator Edd Hall is awarded his Mason Shoe Company dealership and sells Dave a pair of shoes.

07-12-1989: The Late Night Crash-Cam smashes into pickles carved as Dave; after reading only #10 of the Top Ten Safety Tips for Flag Burners ["Don't even think about burning one in the presence of a certain proud American: Namely me, Dave Letterman"], Dave is awarded with the Certificate of Merit by NBC head "Robert Wright" and receives a congratulatory call from Soviet Union Premier "Mikail Gorbachev." To top off the segment, Anton Fig is sworn in as U.S. citizen.

07-12-1990: It's Archery Night in the NBC hallway with Tricia Hall-Johnson, as Bill Murray, a guest from the night before, returns to bother Dave and shoot arrows.

07-12-1991: Top Ten Other Mary Hart Side Effects - 4. Laughter causes McDLT hot side to become cold; cold side to become hot.

07-12-1991: Viewer Mail: A writer asks what the red button on Dave's desk is for. Each time Dave pushes it, Marv Albert is seen declaring, "Yes!" Marv finally enters the studio and takes the button away.

07-12-1994: On tonight's "Regis Week" rerun, an audience member plays "Regis Roulette."

07-12-1995: Top Ten Least Popular Summer Drinks - 1. Crapple.

07-12-1995: Who Asked For It? "Gil Knight" says the audience gives him the creeps -- it's full of Richard Simmons.

07-12-1996: Bill Murray holds his breath for 6 minutes, passes out, and is given oxygen. Laughs aplenty.

07-12-1996: Clip of "Wheel of Fortune" show: "Paul Shaffer" is a solution.

07-12-1996: Dave does an impression of a waitress talking to Rush Limbaugh. Later, Dave gives a tennis lesson.
