This Dave in History July 14

07-14-1982: Former Beatle drummer Pete Best guests on LNwDL and claims that his bandmates were jealous of his looks.

07-14-1986: The lyrics to "O Canada" are distributed to the studio audience, as everyone sings the Canadian national anthem.

07-14-1988: Complaining the last few days about finding carpet worms in his home, Dave invites Pest Control Consultant Jim Herman to examine samples. Yes, the writers' strike is still on.

07-14-1989: A Salute to Bastille Day, as the Late Night Crash-Cam tears down prison walls. During a Public Service Announcement, Larry "Bud" is accidently smacked in the back with a real wooden board.

07-14-1989: President Bush's Top Ten Gaffes While in Europe - 1. Loudly announcing everywhere he went "Ich bin ein Batman."

07-14-1992: Larry "Bud" reports live from inside the Democratic National Convention in Madison Square Garden. Naturally, Larry can't hear a thing Dave is saying.

07-14-1992: Visiting Democratic Convention Delegates' Top Ten Complaints About New York - 1. Everywhere you look - Regis!

07-14-1994: In tonight's "Regis Week" rerun (from 2/14/94) - Charles Grodin wins an award while Regis Philbin sulks.

07-14-1995: After an admittedly lame Remote on Producer Robert Morton's Day in the Life, Morty jumps into a giant bowl of pudding, followed by Dave. Later in the show, Paul, Laurie Diamond, and members of the music group White Zombie join in.

07-14-1995: Top Ten Ways to Beat the Heat - 7. Stop a Mister Softee truck, insist you're Skip Softee, the boss's son and crawl into the freezer compartment.

07-14-1997: "Celebrity Summer Plans" bit.

07-14-1997: A pretty good list this time: Top Ten Handyman Pickup Lines (read by Tim Allen).

07-14-1997: An audience woman (?) sings a song (about a summer night's dream) on stage with the band, and she gets a canned ham.

07-14-1997: Guests Don Rickles (somewhat annoying), Brendan Fraser (nervous, says "of course" a lot), and En Vogue.

07-14-1997: While broadcasting a live feed, a dog is seen walking past the Mars Pathfinder, then later licking the camera. Love those broadcasting dogs!

07-14-1998: "A Day in the Life of Barbra Streisand and James Brolin" bit. Also, two customers from Joe G's Pizza play "Please Stop Calling Me Chief", with no winner.

07-14-1998: Chuck Jackson (vocal) sits in with the band.

07-14-1998: In the "fun to spell" category, we have guests Chef Daniel Boulud and Arj Barker (who does pretty good stand-up).

07-14-1998: Promo for "The New 60 Minutes". Also, Dave brings out a laugh-track button.
