08-02-1988: Dave discusses his ride to the L.A. airport for his flight back to NYC, as he gets a ticket from a cop not taken with his sense of humor.

08-02-1989: Dave calls his mom to wish her a belated birthday. Later, he calls Paul's mom to wish her one as well, although her birthday isn't for another month.

08-02-1989: The Late Night Crash-Cam makes its final journey lit with sparklers, smashing into the Exxon gas tank.

08-02-1989: Top Ten Ways Rob Lowe Could Fulfill His Community Service - 6. Read aloud to Dan Quayle.

08-02-1990: Saddam Hussein's Top Ten Reasons for Attacking Kuwait - 6. To impress Jodie Foster.

08-02-1990: Via the magic of video editing, Dave tries on 10 different blazers.

08-02-1991: Top Ten Legal Holidays in Hell - 7. Birthday of the Guy Who Invented "The Wave."

08-02-1991: U.S. Postmaster General Anthony M. Frank oversees tonight's Viewer Mail, in which Larry "Bud" is found in a meat locker.

08-02-1994: At a Presidential Hearing, Dave reads from the comic strip "Garfield."

08-02-1994: Eight years after being ridiculed by Dave due to her "weasel management," Stevie Nicks makes her first appearance on Dave. With new management.

08-02-1994: Top Ten Good Things About Being Married To Michael Jackson - 6. None of those annoying demands for sex.

08-02-1995: The temperature outside reads 190 degrees, so Dave invites Anna from Minneapolis into the theater and cool off to a giant Westinghouse fan.

08-02-1995: Top Ten Surprising Facts About Michael H. Jordan, Chairman and CEO of Westinghouse - 4. Once shot a G.E. repairman just to watch him die.

08-02-1999: During the show, guest Jim Jeter drives his 1982 Toyota Starlet, turning the odometer over: one million miles. Later, Dave shows an odometer graphic of "000000.0". Jeter comes in the theater and is awarded a car with only 170K miles (a 1985 Pulsar).

08-02-1999: Other guests Pierce Brosnan ("Thomas Crown Affair") and Saffron Burrows.

08-02-1999: Paul Shaffer's Countdown to the Millennium, sponsored by Dan Quayle ("He likes sex with interns, too"), NYC Organized Crime, and Larry King. Everything will explode! (The jackpot is 300 damn dollars.)

08-02-1999: Top Ten Signs You're Watching a Cheap Horror Movie.

08-02-2000: "Republican National Convention Quiz" is interrupted by someone stealing Alan Kalter's headphones. When Alan and the "robber" run outside, some guy not with the show helps stop the "robbery".

08-02-2000: Campaign 2000, starring Maria Pope, sponsored by Compostumbler (woman testimonial, with Alan saying "I got what you need right here, Mama"). Dave shows us the Olentangy River on a map. GWB's press secretary Mindy Ticker called back. Clip of Dave in GWB's highlight reel that was shown at the Convention. Sponsors: Compostumbler and L.P.F.P.S., with Alan ranting "You bastards [etc]" (longer rant than yesterday).

08-02-2000: Lettering in the window across the street says "Dave Letterman: A Legend".

08-02-2000: Top Ten Announcements That Would Cause a Panic at the Republican National Convention - 3. Richard Nixon is out in the parking lot and he's pissed.
