08-30-1988: Calvert DeForest is Larry "Bud Melman" as Michael Crawford as the Phantom in an audience participation segment called "Ask the Phantom."

08-30-1991: Dave guests on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, his next-to-last appearance on the show.
08-30-1993: He's tan, he's rested, he's ready. Late Show debuts on CBS. As on the debut Late Night, Calvert DeForest is the first image on the new show. Tom Brokaw retrieves NBC's intellectual property. Also as on the debut Late Night, Bill Murray is the first guest. Paul Newman asks, "Where the hell are the singing cats?" The world breathes a sigh of relief.
08-30-1994: It's the first year anniversary of the Late Show, as The Beach Boys sing the Top Ten Things From Our First Year. Jonathan Estrada makes a return appearance biting cheese into states.
08-30-1996: Composite rerun features new bits, including Dave and Biff discussing their old tennis careers.

08-30-2000: A big cake that says "Happy 7th Anniversary Late Show" is brought out and explodes. Dave is disappointed with the size of the explosion.
08-30-2000: Act 2 is unusually short at 3 minutes--just the dancers again and Top Ten Signs "The New York Times" is Slipping - 4. Notice on sports page: "All scores are approximate." (Dave is still annoyed at NYT for being way off on the polar ice cap melting frequency.)
