05-07-1984: Today is Law Suit Day, whereas F. Lee Bailey advises which potential Late Show lawsuits to pursue. After several rejections, he suggests suing Larry Holmes for his no-show the previous week and the Merchant Marines Academy Choir for walking out the previous February.

05-07-1985: Eric Clapton sits in with the band. Paul later credits Eric's appearance as the catalyst for further rock players to appear.

05-07-1986: Because her wardrobe was sent to the show weeks ago and displayed on the set the last few nights, Cybill Sheperd appears in nothing but a towel. Also, 80-year-old rocker Gerty Molzen performs the definitive version of Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side." It's one of Will Lee's favorite moments on the show.

05-07-1987: In a bid for its town to become the new Home Office, the mayor of Scottsdale, Arizona, Herbert Drinkwater, reads the Top Ten Modern Municipal Problems or Panda Names.

05-07-1991: Paul borrows a Jonathan Katz line by relating a dinner story with his parents. He meant to ask, "Would you please pass the salt" but instead blurted out, "You bitch! You ruined my givling life!." Later in the show, Dave calls Paul's mom in Thunder Bay to apologize.

05-07-1992: Top Ten Highlights of Maria Shriver's Interview with Raisa Gorbachev - 3. Tearful confession of 10-year affair with Yakov Smirnoff - by both of them.

05-07-1993: Top Ten Signs Your Postman Could Be Ready To Snap - 8. Wife wears T-shirt saying, "I'm with disgruntled."

05-07-1996: Dave gives a 95-year-old audience woman flowers for her birthday.

05-07-1996: Day 2 in San Franciso feature a remote with Joe Montana, as both stuff crabs down their pants, and Clint Eastwood making faces back in the Sullivan Theater in New York.

05-07-1996: Our Top Ten Favorite California Names - 10. Dick Hertz, 4. Dick Weed, 1. Dick Head. The list was presented by people with those names, and the Home Office was Daly City, CA.

05-07-1997: Top Ten Ways the Tobacco Companies Can Improve Their Image - 2. Replace surgeon general's warning with, "smoke up, you crazy bastards!"

05-07-1998: Ad for "Dave Letterman's Talk Show Camp for Kids".

05-07-1998: Billy Joe of Green Day does "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)", a song prominently featured in the final Seinfeld clip show one week later.
