05-22-1992: Cold Open: Dave honors Johnny Carson's last night as Tonight Show host by airing clips of Carson's previous appearances on Late Night. He claims that Carson's show would have guaranteed the success of any program that followed it, even a show about "squirrels mating in a cage." 05-22-1996: Stupid Human Tricks features Clare Dutra, who is her own date (by wrapping her arms around herself and grabbing her breasts from behind), Johnny Hazboun, who chugs tea with a chair on his head, Ray Macaraeg, who blows bubbles with a tarantula in his mouth, and James Thompson, who jumps rope with two women and a bass player on his back. Later, Dave guests on Larry King Live.

05-22-1996: Top Ten Ways Dole is Trying to Appear Younger - 6. Stores his dentures in a glass of Red Dog beer.

05-22-1997: Top Ten Reasons Tom Brokaw May Be Leaving NBC - 4. Whenever he eats lunch at the NBC Commissary, Willard's toupee rubs against his leg and begs for table scraps

05-22-1998: A VH-1 parody special, "Behind the Music," features Paul Shaffer's rise and fall and rise again, with testimonials from Kris Kristofferson, Eddie Vedder, Sting, Erik Estrada, Lou Reed, and WCBS-TV's local news anchor Dana Tyler.

05-22-1998: CBS Mailbag: (1) Alan Kalter is arrested--did he rob Paul? (2) Paul doesn't like "Bulworth", and says so; Warren Beatty visits him and pounds his head in. (3) Jerry Springer: "Does David Letterman Look More Like a Duck or a Squirrel?" (4) Navy guys out on the street spell out the writer's name ("RON"). Later in the show, they spell out "RIBS" for the Top Ten List (see above) and "BYE" at the end.
