02-07-1985: After performing "Here Comes That Rainbow Again," Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings chat with each other at homebase, ignoring Dave, who decides to read cowboy magazines.

02-07-1987: The Late Night 5th Anniversary Special broadcasts on the SNL set in Studio 8H. Highlights include Joe Cocker and Wilson Pickett performing "In the Midnight Hour" with backup singers Rita Marley, Bonnie Raitt, and Judy Mowatt. Others sitting in the band include Freddie Hubbard, Clarence Clemons, Grover Washington, Jr., Peter Frampton, Andy Summers, Felix Cavaliere, and Herbie Hancock.

02-07-1989: Top Ten Soviet Excuses for Leaving Afghanistan - 7. Duped by phony P.A. announcement saying "Country closing in 10 minutes."

02-07-1990: Dave leaves the studio and the building and walks to the Joke Stand on the street, buys a joke, and then returns to complete his Opening Remarks.

02-07-1990: Top Ten Complaints of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models - 9. Ever since Paulina started dating Ric Ocasek, goofy looking guys actually think they have a shot with us.

02-07-1991: Top Ten Top Secret Projects at Birdseye Village - 5. Test marketing actual frozen birds' eyes.

02-07-1992: Remote: Dave buys shoes with staffers Barbara Gaines, Julie Bean, Mary Connelly, Pami Shamir, Laurie Diamond, and NBC Page Betsy Helf.

02-07-1994: To assist in tonight's Top Ten List, CBS This Morning co-hosts Paula Zahn and Harry Smith play their cello and tuba, respectively, after each entry. From that list: The Top Ten Rejected Olympic Sports - 6. Bobsled with Bob Barker, Bob Eubanks and Bob Hope.

02-07-1995: Dave Ellner updates his Peaboy persona as "Hamboy," throwing out chunks of ham to the audience. Dave starts singing "Happy Trails" for no reason, and the phone rings. On the other line is Charles Grodin, who pleads, "Please stop singing."

02-07-1995: Top Ten Revelations in Clinton's New Biography - 2. While studying at Oxford, got it on with the Queen.

02-07-1996: Audience member Frank selects a campaign slogan for Presidential Candidate Steve Forbes. Among the options: "In your heart you know he's nuts," "He's Hillary-free," and "He'll flat tax you till your ass turns blue." The slogan selected: "He'll buy you a brand new buick." The slogan is placed on a campaign truck outside. Dave influences the choice just a little.

02-07-1996: Guest Samantha Mathis is quite entertaining in her panel segments.

02-07-1996: Paul plays Dave to the desk with the lovely 20th Century Fox theme. Dave still says "Wahoo" for some reason. Also, Top Ten Phil Gramm Excuses (music: "Turkey in the Straw").

02-07-1996: Top Ten Phil Gramm Excuses - 6. Day before election, caught in bed with chef Paul Prudhomme.

02-07-1997: CBS Mailbag: (1) "Double Scoop of Murder", a book by a guy who sold O.J. ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins; (2) fake ad (with Dave and Paul) for "Uncle Dave's Non-alcoholic Gin"; (3) "Late Show Optical Illusions"--one is that Dave *pretends* to entertain? (4) We get to see all the actors who have "played" Biff, Paul, and Dave (Leonard Tepper and Tony Randall appear).

02-07-1997: Green Bay Quarterback Brett Favre and Dave aim footballs at passing cabs outside the theater. No hits. It's the same way with the San Diego Chargers...no hits either.

02-07-1997: Paul plays Dave to the desk with "Back Home in Indiana". All night long, it's "Comedy from Around the World".

02-07-1997: Top Ten Ways My Life Would Have Been Different If I Had Never Had a Show - 6. My part in "Cabin Boy" would have gone to Howie Mandel.

02-07-2000: Late Show 2000 - Comedy Under Siege*. Week 4 begins the "Late Show Backstage" experiment.

02-07-2000: Late Show Backstage features Charles Grodin "hosting", with Julia Roberts and Regis as the guests.
