04-03-1984: Dave welcomes newly-hired NBC Employee Wendy Moran, offering her with a new NBC ID; a videotaped welcome from Connie Chung, Marv Albert, and Willard Scott; an NBC training film; a phone call from Mercury Astronaut Gordon Cooper, and champagne with Larry "Bud" Melman.

04-03-1985: Wendy Moran returns to celebrate her first year anniversary at NBC. She's congratulated with video greetings from Bill Cosby, Connie Chung, Ed Marinaro, and NBC Nurse Dennise Robinson, while Paul sings a lovely tribute.

04-03-1986: It's Steve Jordan's final appearance as the World's Most Dangerous Band's drummer. He leaves to work on a variety of projects with Keith Richard(s) -- such as participating in Aretha Franklin's music video "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and a tribute to Chuck Berry -- culminating two years later playing and co-producing Keith's band "X-Pensive Winos" along with Charley Drayton, who used to sub for Steve on Late Night. (Steve and Charley alternate on bass and drums.) Anton Fig continues subbing on drums the following week but isn't made an official member until a month later.

04-03-1990: Dave calls Meg Parsont across the street at Simon & Schuster and asks her to shoot paper airplanes out her window.

04-03-1990: Top Ten Reasons Iraq Wants an Atomic Bomb - 5. To get Iran to turn down the damn music.

04-03-1991: It's 55 degrees outside, so Hal opens up the Studio Sun Roof for the first time. Also, Al Maher and Joe Gorta present another episode of Stagehand Theater, tonight reenacting a scene from "Love and Sex." Again, nothing like "Pat and Kenny Read Oprah Transcripts."

04-03-1991: Top Ten Umpire Complaints - 2. In most states "killing the umpire" only a class B misdemeanor.

04-03-1992: Top Ten Signs the Recession Is Ending - 10. All of a sudden, people do want fries with that. 5. Next December, one lucky G.E. employee will get a Christmas bonus.

04-03-1995: On the first Late Show since Dave hosted the Academy Awards to mixed reviews, Dave declares, "I had no idea that thing was televised."

04-03-1995: Top Ten Complaints About This Year's Academy Awards - 10. VCR ran out of tape after the first 9 hours.

04-03-1996: Anna Paquin appears to pick up her $10,000 for making the basketball shot on Monday; she says she'll give it to charity.

04-03-1996: Dave looks for the absent Paul, and finds him at "Phantom of the Opera". Also, we see a clip of "The Dave Hour", Dave's public access show.

04-03-1996: Top Ten Highlights of Hillary's Appearance on Larry King - 7. The mysterious phone call from Vince Foster.

04-03-1997: "Riverdance" (Gerry Mulligan, Leonard Tepper, Jim Peterson, Eric Kaplan) promote their home video "Riverdancin' to the Oldies."

04-03-1997: In segment 5, Will Lee plays the bass in a weird way.

04-03-1997: Know Your Current Events player Kate from NJ is going to school for massage therapy.

04-03-1997: Top Ten Revelations in Marcia Clark's New Book - 6. In law school, skipped class the day they covered "How to convict a guy who is absolutely, 100% guilty."

04-03-1998: Alan Kalter reacts badly to a CBS Mailbag letter asking if he's a freak by visiting the letter-writer (LS website co-producer Jay Johnson) and punching in his face.

04-03-1998: CBS Mailbag: (1) General Custer looks like Kenny Sheehan; (2) teleprompter takes Inky's job; (3) Dave plays twister at the DMV; (4) Alan "freaks" out (see above).

04-03-1998: Edmund Gillette, the 12-year-old New York City Spelling Bee champion from Holy Innocence School, spells (two) words "all night long": pursuantly and monoracho.

04-03-1998: Tom Hanks promotes the 12-part mini-series "From the Earth to the Moon". Earlier, he appeared dressed exactly like Dave, then exactly like Paul.

04-03-1998: Top Ten Other Ways Bill Clinton Is the Luckiest Man in the World.

04-03-2000: A new station (WBKX, Channel 8 from Ravenna, Ohio) joins the network, amidst personal turmoil.

04-03-2000: Biff is in the guest chair again, and we see his taped report from Yankees spring training.

04-03-2000: Campaign 2000: Dave tells a story about picking up trash in his yard and then checking himself for ticks. He calls Lou Aronne. Sponsors are Heart Surgery, the U.S. Census ("we want to know who you are, where you are, and just what the hell you're trying to pull"), and Gene Keady.

04-03-2000: NCAA Championship Dribble of the Night. Also, Top Ten Bad Titles for College Application Essays.
