09-23-1982: Late Night Guest Cartoonist Lee Graham pays tribute to KNEZ, Flagstaff, Arizona. Tonight, Paul is the King of Ging.

09-23-1986: Dave kicks Bill Wendell out of the studio for prompting the audience to applause. Later, Jerry O'Connell is a kid promoting Rob Reiner's film "Stand By Me." He next appears on Dave ten years later to plug his own film, "Joe's Apartment."

09-23-1987: The Prancing Fluids are loaded with 20 gallons (or 200 bottles) of Lavoris. Kaye Lani Rae Rafko, Miss America, 1988, guests.

09-23-1987: Top Ten Reasons Joe Biden Dropped out of the Presidential Race - 10. To promote his new album "Bad."

09-23-1990: Chris Elliott's "Get a Life" debuts on Fox.

09-23-1992: Paul's rented painting in front of his organ, Richard Tobias's "Untitled," is replaced by a photo of Martin Short at age thirteen with his family.

09-23-1992: Top Ten Other Medical Revelations - 3. Much like a cow, Tommy Lasorda has multiple stomachs.

09-23-1993: Top Ten New York Mets Excuses - 6. Mistake to let Don Knotts bat cleanup. (This item offends audience member Don Knotts.)

09-23-1994: Dave leaves the show early, and Paul finds him working at McDonald's. Meanwhile, Paul composes the classic "Hypnotized and Naked."

09-23-1996: "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" sidekick Andy Richter returns an ashtray from Dave's term at NBC. Richter says he found it in his NBC office, when the new "Late Night" crew was moving in.

09-23-1996: Dave is played over to the desk with the lovely 20th Century Fox theme, but Paul isn't there (off for Yom Kippur, sub Leon Pendarvis).

09-23-1996: It's Big Comedy Monday, as Gerard Mulligan is the bride to a wedding, Biff gets soup with Lemon Pledge at Rupert's, and Jay Johnson is soaked with iced tea.

09-23-1996: Top Ten Signs You're Not One of the World's Most Eligible Bachelors.

09-23-1997: External camera at the new Hooters; Biff gives gifts, and Hooters fries up chicken wings for the whole Late Show audience.

09-23-1997: Staffer Michelle O'Callahan appears on the show; she's pregnant (due three days ago), but no contractions yet.

09-23-1997: Top Ten New Allegations Against Al Gore - 3. On the night of March 12, at approximately 8:15 PM, he blinked.

09-23-1998: A guy from the audience gets to sit at Dave's desk briefly.

09-23-1998: Guests: Marv Albert does a panel without any bloopers; Kevin James does standup and promotes his new CBS show "King of Queens".

09-23-1998: Stupid Pet Trick #3: a chocolate Lab gets a penny out of a bucket of water.

09-23-1998: Top Ten Ways The Country Would Be Different If This Guy (guy from the audience) Were President.

09-23-1999: Guests: Adam Sandler sings the lovely song "Seven Foot Man"; Roger Ebert appears by himself.

09-23-1999: Know Your Current Events chosen category deals with Merv Griffin.

09-23-1999: The show is renamed "Late Show 2000", complete with new bumper graphic going into commercials.
