09-30-1985: The Sky-Cam is introduced on the show, bringing forth on later shows the Thrill-Cam, the Tiger-Cam, Anton-Cam, Guest-Cam, and the Monkey-Cam.

09-30-1986: Chris Elliott introduces his "Mummensquad," a theater troupe portraying a human spoon, a box of toilet paper, a hot dog, and a fork.

09-30-1987: Mikhail Gorbachev's Top 10 Excuses for Being Missing. 2. Overseeing joint CIA/KGB plan to eliminate Yakov Smirnoff.

09-30-1987: The Prancing Fluids are filled with milk. Paul's Prancing Fluids, Jr., are filled with Tidy Bowl.

09-30-1991: A&E begins airing vintage Late Night shows, to Dave's delight.

09-30-1992: Top Ten Signs You've Gone to a Bad Veterinarian - 8. Big sign in waiting room: "No pets allowed." 5. Sends you card every spring: "Time for your dog's annual neutering."

09-30-1993: Adam Sandler performs his first single "Lunchladyland."

09-30-1993: Top Ten Signs You Have No Friends - 3. James Taylor sings first few bars of "You've Got A Friend," notices you in the audience, and stops.

09-30-1994: Remote: Dave gets hair advice from various professional hair stylists. He and Mickey Ballantine end up fighting crime on the streets of New York with their hair blowers.

09-30-1996: "Everything Is Funnier In Spanish"--"Inky" translates a joke into Spanish.

09-30-1996: "Late Show Debates" with Mujibur and Sirajul result in hand-to-hand combat.

09-30-1996: David Sanborn sits in with the band.

09-30-1996: Remote: Staff Show & Tell doesn't go well, so "Everything Is Funnier in Spanish."

09-30-1996: Top Ten Cool Things About Being the Wealthiest Man in America - 6. Your huge net worth helps take the sting out of the fact that you didn't sleep with a woman until age 39. (closing music "Money (That's What I Want)").

09-30-1997: "Late Show Special Effects" bit.

09-30-1997: External camera: Dave calls the pay phone, brings a guy (Tom Wurzel) into the theater, and gives him a few seconds of air time. He says profound stuff like "Everyone should make as much money as they can." Later, in segment 5, Paul gets 5 seconds of air time, too.

09-30-1997: Top Ten Signs an Umpire Is Nuts - 5. Three small and very telling words: wears a cape. (closing music "Hell").

09-30-1997: Veniamin, the Human Slinky, makes his debut on the Late Show. (I think this was on October 1.)

09-30-1998: Alan and Paul are both out; we have a female announcer, and Warren Zevon in the band.

09-30-1998: At Joe G's, a new game: "What's the Deal with President Clinton?"

09-30-1998: Guest "Ricky, the bunting miniature horse" is bumped.

09-30-1998: Top Ten Things Dumb Guys Say About the Economy.

09-30-1999: Kevin Spacey is a guest to promote "American Beauty".

09-30-1999: On "True Stories of the Late Show Stagehands", Harold Larkin finds a bag of money.

09-30-1999: On KYCE, the chosen category is Know Your Carrion-Eating Birds.

09-30-1999: Top Ten Tommy Lee Jones Roles. Also, an odd promo for "60 Minutes" hints that a cast member may die.
