01-13-1986: The Ping-Pong Ball machine makes its first appearance on Late Night. Also, rock 'n' roll accordionist Roberta Rubinson returns to the show to perform her oft-requested medley "Smooth Operator/Love Boat/Like a Virgin/What's Love Got to Do with It?"

01-13-1987: Dave's Record Collection includes Anthony Quinn's "Just How Much Do I Love You," Barbara Dane's "I Hate the Capitalist System," and "Lullabye from the Womb: Sounds from the Main Artery," picked up by Sid and the band, who back it up with Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love."

01-13-1988: It's the "No-Idea Idea," as Dave has five minutes with nothing to do, so an audience member, Teresa, offers a cassette tape to Paul, who chooses "European Music Offering." Later in the big show, Calvert is Larry as Kenny the Gardener as Roy Orbison.

01-13-1988: Top Ten Rejected Themes for the Ice Capades - 3. Peggy Fleming in Ice Bitches Behind Bars.

01-13-1989: Al Maher's Box O' Thrills: Breakfast cereals. Top Ten Perks To Being Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame: #9. Paves way for employment in exciting field of casino greeting.

01-13-1989: Cold Close - Dave and Paul leave the studio, accompanied by Dave's "wife"; Dave and wife get into an argument in the car on the way home, the car crashes and ends up in flames down a cliff.

01-13-1993: Top Ten Problems that Doomed the Around-the-World Balloon Flight - 7. Navigator insisted on bringing along his collection of good luck anvils.

01-13-1994: "What's New for 1994" include a moustache on Dan Rather, coffee pouring out of Biff's ears, and Calvert as "The Guy Who Thinks My Name is Randy."

01-13-1994: Top Ten Things Overheard at the Lorena Bobbitt Trial - 8. Mr. Bobbitt, please rise.

01-13-1995: In one of three remotes for Late Show staffer Nancy Agostini, Dave buys her a winter coat jacket.

01-13-1995: Top Ten Ways To Annoy Your Waiter - 9. Ask, "Excuse me, are you a really bad singer or a really bad actor?"

01-13-1997: Clips of Late Show Spin-Offs: "Rupert Touches Meat", "Leonard's Hidden Video", "Kenny Baywatch", "Late Show with Carlos" (and dancing monkeys), and "Biff".

01-13-1997: Dave's weekend: fantasy (with babes) vs. reality (playing ping-pong with a Tom Brokaw lifesize cutout).

01-13-1997: Guests Kevin Spacey, Madeline Kahn, and Harry Hill.

01-13-1997: Top Ten President Clinton Pick-Up Lines - 2. I just ratified a bill -- how would you like to gratify a Bill?"

01-13-1998: "May We See Your Photos Please" turns into a washout as first there are satellite problems with the live remote only two blocks away, then there are no customers, and later, a customer arrives to drop off film to be developed.

01-13-1998: Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks perform ("Go Your Own Way", I think). Mick Fleetwood and Allen Toussaint (sp?) sit in with the band "all night long".

01-13-1998: Other guests Bill Pullman ("Zero Effect") and Jim Breuer ("Half Baked").

01-13-1998: Top Ten Other ways CBS can spend 4 billion dollars - 7. Send formal apology to every U.S. citizen for "The Dukes of Hazzard."

01-13-1999: "New for New York" bit. Also, Top Ten Upcoming Stories on "60 Minutes".

01-13-1999: David Letterman's Countdown to the Millennium: Paul's fact: Health spas will no longer charge deposits.

01-13-1999: Guests Conan O'Brien, who brings a Star Wars clip, and Alanis Morissette.

01-13-1999: Tape of Bob Borden at a candy store; yes, it's "Next Time Bring Your Sister, You Hump".

01-13-2000: Campaign 2000 (with "H R Bob Haldeman", Rob Burnett) includes a clip of Bill mentioning his wife's appearance on the show last night and discusses whether Rob let her see the quiz questions in advance.

01-13-2000: Dave tells us two things he knows about life (nose hairs and calling talk radio). Also, the Turkish ping pong guy plays ping pong with Art Donovan.

01-13-2000: Guests Tom Arnold ("Animal Factory"), Art Donovan, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, who did some song about Alabama.

01-13-2000: Know Your Current Events: Dave, an American Eagle pilot from Milwaukee (originally from London, England), plays Know Your Surprises in my Interview with Hillary Clinton.

01-13-2000: This was the last day Dave taped shows before his bypass surgery (even though one of them aired on Friday the 14th).
