Message:Many years ago, when Connie appeared in Fame i was so completely struck by her beauty that decided to write her a letter. Thanks to MGM it actually reached her and she sent me a nice letter and a photograph back. I think she lived in Yorba Linda at the time. This all happened about 14 years ago and eversince i've been curious to know how she is doing.
I would be eternally grateful if anyone could send me her address or email or any other address that would enable me to write her again.

Message:She was an interesting character because she was beautiful and sweet, and family-oriented, yet sometimes she could be very self-centered and stuck up. It took someone else in the family to remind her of what a sweet girl she really was. For example, when she dropped a water baloon on the teacher and had to miss graduation. The act was mean, but the apology was very sincere. In short, she had the perfect blend of cute and sweet, and mischievous.
Subject: Madonna vs. Connie Needham for Fame Role

Message:I watched last week's VH1 Before They Were Stars and it featured Madonna trying out for a role in the NBC TV series "Fame", but the casting director didn't think she was a good actress (remember Shanghai Surprise later on?). Madonna also was telling him about her dance hit "Everybody" in 1982 when it was released. The role went to Connie Needham instead while Madonna went on to make history elsewhere.

Message:Hello fans. I remember EiE when I was still in high school. For some strange reason I had Elizabeth Bradford in my sleep. I decided to see if any web sites and here I am. I read somewhere many years ago that Connie married Hal Needham's son. Hal is a well known director of action movies with Burt Reynolds. I guess his son wanted to join the business as his father. Also in real life Dick Van Pattens wife was shock to learn that Connie was married at 18. Thats all I know about Conne other than she fills those blue jeans of her's well! As I look back now, Connie was a very cute girl. Kind of Tomboyish in her own way, but she had big dimples and a smile that would melt your heart. Also I read in the book EiE, that Tom Bradford's favorite child was Elizabeth. She was very special to him. Now I have to go see EiE now. Good night.

I've been wondering about Connie too. She's probably retired from acting. But who knows, it seems like lately people from EiE keep popping up on various TV shows, maybe Connie will come out of hiding and appear on some talk show or something.

I remember hearing that Connie had a baby, but when or what it was, I couldn't say. As my two cents worth, I would like to say that without a doubt, Connie Newton was THE it girl of prime time TV. Just plain fantastic! A totally great bod,and a tallented actress. She always seemed to have a twinkle in her eye, like some great practical joke was just boiling away under the surface, just waiting to explode. She was an all natural beauty, that had more then, than the young women of today.

As far as marriage, she married a set designer from EIE before the show ended (in about 1980). Haven't seen any acting from her since Fame & an episode of Police Story.

Message:Dear Sarah,
Does your mom happen to know what happened to Connie Newton-Needham? I am curious to find out. Many years ago (i'm embarrased to say) she sent me an 8x10 of herself and said she lived in Anaheim. What is going on with her nowadays? Also, tell your mom she did a great job on eight is enough. That show brings back many memories.
GOD bless you,
Christopher Anderson

I believe she married in 1978 during the second season, so she had to be at least 18 of age, making her roughly my age. Can anybody elaborate further?

Message:
Connie Newton Needham was married in the 1979-1980 season to a former set designer for the show. Her biography lists her date of birth as 12-6-62 so she was either 16-17 or her date of birth is incorrect.
