On Molly Dodd, Mamie had a twin brother Dwight. The actor that played Dwight was in EIE as a young doctor, that Mary had a crush on when the nutty patient was stalking her.

Did anyone notice Nicholas' disappearing earring while he and Rebekka were driving Tommy's Porsche? First it was there, then it wasn't, then it was, then . . .

I rewound that part and saw it, that's pretty good eyesight on your part Jodi!

I was surprised that "little" Nicholas had an earring, then when he turned his head and it was gone I thought I was wrong, but when the police officer stopped him I saw it again. Tommy looked like he was trying to be Native American.

Yea, I wonder if Tommy had hair extensions or if that was his real hair, cause it didn't look to good on him.

Those were definitely extensions on Tommy's head. At the time that movie was filmed, he was still doing "Charles in Charge." He never had long hair during the run of that show. Uhhhh, please don't anyone out there think I was a fan of "Charles in Charge"!!! I did meet Willie Aames once a couple of years ago. I should have asked him then about the extensions! :)
Was Susan having problems in real life? She looked terrible, and that butter-yellow fake hair--it looked like a Halloween wig.
How is it that Joanie, who was semi-engaged to Jeffrey Trout at the end of the series, had managed to marry another actor and have a son, Francois, who looked to be older than Sandra Sue who was 6. Timewise, Joanie's kid couldn't have been any older than 4, but he looked to be 7 or 8. And why did she speak English to her husband and only French to her son. Only in TV Land!
Despite the discrepancies, I enjoyed the reunion show, and wish they'd have another one. Maybe this time they'll make it all fit.

I wonder why they didn't even mention Jeremy? They could have said he was away and couldn't make it.

I guess it was the same reason the Bradys never mentioned their nephew Oliver in those reunion movies either.
Nephews brought both shows down to cancellation hell and both are better off forgetting about their live-in nephews.

When EIE was cancelled, it was still in the top 10. Betty, in an interview, said that the contracts for all the actors were up for renewal and that the producers felt it would cost too much money to continue. Thus, it was cancelled.

Haven't you noticed that just about all sitcoms that involved children will suddenly "take in" an orphan or nieces/nephews when the kids start growing up? And it's usually the last season or so. One Day at A Time, the Waltons, the Cosby show, back to the 50s with Donna Reed and Make Room for Daddy, the 60s with My Three Sons (Earnie wasn't an original).
It's a typical sitcom ploy, as if in real life anybody who has 8 kids that are finally grown would want to take in more. I think the empty nest syndrome only exists on TV.

What happened to Susan and Merle's little apartment in the garage in back? It looked like the shed where Mary was lifting weights was where the apartment had been.
Also, when they are trying to sell the house, "Abby" says the real estate agent tells her they have an odd number of bathrooms. But there was always a big deal made out of the fact that there were only two bathrooms, and both were upstairs, which in a house of that size is pretty unbelievable.

Re: Susan- The only hair that was her own were her bangs. You may find this hard to believe, but I saw her on a Boston talk show in August 1987 talking about a harrowing ordeal she went through in one of the Koreas. She was conned into going over there to shoot a film and was then shorn of her locks, beaten and left for dead so that the film's producers could collect life insurance on her. During the interview she had a nervous twitch and white-blond chopped short hair. She talked fondly about getting together with the old gang for the movie that summer.
In the 1989 reunion movie which I gather is airing next Saturday, she appears a bit more normal and with her own hair.

Oops- in rereading what I wrote, I remembered that she was not in fact left for dead, but that the producers of the film were going to have her die on the set in what was supposed to look like an on set accident (much like "The Twilight Zone Movie" accident with Vic Morrow). At THAT point they were going to collect on her insurance policy. Sorry for the misinfo.

And didn't Nicholas look goofy?

I thought Elizabeth's husband was too cute. Who was he? The only good scene was the girls in the bedroom. There wasn't enough bonding with the bros and sisters, and how come none of them still lived in town? Very unlikely after they all lived at home for so many years. Is the 2nd reunion movie written better?

Sandy Faison plays Abby in the Wedding movie. She played Molly's goofy sister in the Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, and she also had a part in Quantum Leap about a mother in the 60s who wanted to go to college, but her husband didn't want her to, so while on a camping trip she falls off a cliff. Sam has leapt into the body of her 14-year-old son and he rescues her and fills her in on new woman's roles, etc.
She's a good actress, and so is Mary Frann, but still, Abby will always be Betty Buckley. I hope if they do a new one she comes back.

Listen to me, I need. Someone who, could show me how.
To live & to survive in this imperfect world.
You are there when I need a friend.
And we tried just to understand.
And sometimes when we disagree, I need you & you need me.
So given all our human needs, please take me as I am.
You are there, even when I left
On my own just to know you care.
We'll conquer walls between us now,
I found my way back home.
You only try to tell me.
You take me as I am. You take me as I am.
